Home Studio
I have always loved to draw from an early age. I then went to Ravensbourne University in London
where I graduated with a BA Hons in Fashion and Textiles.
I have always worked in this field since I left university, so have loads of experience.
I have been lucky enough to travel to many countries during my career, working in the Far East and Europe. I have worked with buyers and manufacture's throughout my career.
For the last few years I have worked from home as a freelance designer.
I love working from home, even on the dullest of days I can be in my own space creating.
as the season changes I get a different view each day.
However, you do have to be quite disciplined and work to a routine. I usually get up around
7.15 am. Once the rest of the family has left for work, college etc. I usually walk the our yorkshire terrier. They are such character dogs, full of bounce and enthusiasm. Then I do a few routine exercises before I get settled down to my computer. I feel the exercise is important, it sets you up for the day as well as keeps you fit. Sitting all day at a computer concentrating can take its toll on your body. I make sure I have plenty of breaks and try not too snack too much. although it can be tempting!!
Once I start working depending on the work load, e,mails and amendments to various designs or projects that need to be done. I am usually kept busy most of the day. When I have time I post information and some of my work on this blog to share with you.
Let me know what you think and any questions you have about going it alone.
